The Colorado PTA Sue Anderson Education Advocate Award is granted to recognize outstanding contributions to public education in Colorado. While educators are often thought of first, this award is intended to recognize anyone who is actively involved in the education of youth in an exceptional way: Teachers, Administrators, Counselors, and Community Volunteers.

Nominations must come from Colorado PTA members, local units, or councils. The recipient must be a PTA Member and an individual who has contributed to education in Colorado public schools. The contribution must be ongoing or have occurred within the past three (3) years.

All nominations are due in March and winners are announced and recognized at the annual Colorado PTA Convention.

Jan Harp Domene Diversity & Inclusion Award

PTAs everywhere represent parents, caregivers,  and communities from all walks of life, which enables us to best achieve PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality. In 2020, National PTA adopted guiding beliefs and definitions that articulate our commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion:

  • Diversity is our strength.
  • Collaboration must be inclusive.
  • Equity drives our mission.

The Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Award honors PTAs that have put these beliefs into action. These awards recognize PTAs that best demonstrate outstanding achievement in the areas of diversity and inclusion, as well as efforts to end discriminatory practices.

  • Plaque/Trophy
  • Recognition at annual National PTA Convention
